Jane is 35-years old with a developmental disability. She relies on SSI and Medicaid to support her medical needs and her ability to live independently in her own apartment. She has never had very much money before, but recently her grandmother passed away and it was discovered that she left a significant sum of money to Jane under her will.

Jane established a Community Trust I account to protect her inheritance and keep receiving services through SSI and Medicaid. The funds in her trust account can now be used to supplement those benefits and will allow her to do things like take art classes and travel to her favorite places.
